Every Vintage and Antique Store in Brisbane Worth Knowing About
A neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood guide to Brisbane's vintage furniture, homewares and antique shops, checked October 2026.

Where do you find good vintage furniture in Brisbane? Not in one place, that's for sure... It's tucked inside an old picture theatre in Paddington, a woolstore in Teneriffe, a row of timber shops in East Brisbane and an 1895 Sunday school hall in Ipswich. So here it is, suburb by suburb.
A quick confession first. When we went back over this list in October 2026, a couple of old favourites had shut their doors (more on that at the end). So every shop below has been checked against its own website, its own socials or its Google listing. Hours change, so check before you drive across town. And if you're after clothes rather than credenzas, they're getting their own guide very soon.
Heading out on a Saturday? We've put the whole list into a free cheat sheet for your phone, with every address one tap from Google Maps. Download the cheat sheet

Paddington and Red Hill
Start at the old Plaza Theatre on Latrobe Terrace. It's a heritage-listed picture theatre from about 1929, and the Queensland Heritage Register calls it a rare suburban "atmospheric" cinema, blue night-sky ceiling and all. It has been home to an antique centre since 1985 and today trades as Empire Revival at 167 Latrobe Terrace, with around 50 merchants selling furniture, antiques, homewares, jewellery and fashion. Art deco is the owner's soft spot, so look up as well as around. Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm.
For lunch, NAÏM on Collingwood Street is our usual: Mediterranean, with lots of plant-based dishes. Or grab a sandwich from Sunny Side, a few doors up from Empire Revival.
Then walk it off. Head towards the city along Latrobe Terrace and into Given Terrace, about a kilometre end to end, and it's op shops, vintage clothes and a few boutiques most of the way. The map below has our favourite stops.

New on Given Terrace, and not vintage (mostly), but a very good stop: Torchlight Books at Shop 3, 237 Given Terrace, between Paper Empire and Paddi cafe. It's an independent bookshop specialising in art, design and architecture, with literary fiction alongside, and there's some secondhand in there too. They take secondhand books for store credit, and they're especially keen on older, out-of-print and rare art, design and architecture titles. (So if there's a stack of old design books gathering dust at your place... you know where to take them.) Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 2pm.
Over in Red Hill, Salvos Stores Red Hill at 80 Glenrosa Road is an op shop that stocks furniture as well as clothes and homewares. Monday to Saturday.
East Brisbane
Michael Allen Antiques at 987 Stanley Street East is the one to plan around. The family has been in the trade since 1972, when Bruce Allen and Jim Millar started importing Georgian and Victorian furniture by the container load, and they settled into these timber shops (standing since the late 1800s) in 1991. Inside it's Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Australian colonial furniture alongside mid-century pieces by G Plan, McIntosh and Archie Shine, plus silver and garden antiques. Saturday, 10am to 2pm, is your best bet. Any other time, ring first.
Not vintage, but worth a detour if you love the look: Stork Furniture on Didswith Street designs and makes new mid-century inspired pieces in its East Brisbane workshop. The showroom is open Saturdays, 10am to 2pm. (Handmade counts around here.)
New Farm, the Valley and Petrie Terrace
New Farm Antique Centre is at 85 Commercial Road, Teneriffe, inside the historic Woolstore No. 3. The kind of building that makes everything inside it look better. It's family-owned, open seven days, and the stock runs from antique furniture and lighting to oriental pieces, art, curios, taxidermy and vintage fashion. It's one of those places where you go in for a lamp and come out two hours later with a story.
Over in the Valley, Monty's at 190 Wickham Street counts its history back to 1856 and calls itself Australia's oldest secondhand store. It's jewellery and watches first, with antiques, art and collectables around them. Weekdays 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9.30am to 4pm.
Then wander up to Petrie Terrace for The Vinyl Frontier at Shop 5, 32 Petrie Terrace, for mid-century modern furniture and decor from Australia, Scandinavia and Europe, plus glass, ceramics and lighting. Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Thursday to Saturday in the Queensland school holidays.
Camp Hill and Bulimba
Camp Hill Antique Centre at 545 Old Cleveland Road calls itself Brisbane's largest antique centre, with over 70 dealers inside the former Planet Theatre. That's two old theatres on this list, if you're counting. The Tart Cafe is on site for when you need to sit down and think about whether you really need that Parker sideboard. (You do.) Weekends open at 8am, so early birds get first pick.
Over in Bulimba, Anne's Second Hand Shop at 143 Oxford Street is exactly what the name says, and the sign out front says Bought & Sold. Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
Albion, Hamilton and Hendra
Albion is where the serious antique dealers have settled. At 24 Hudson Road, Bill and Valentina's Albion Antiques & Associates has been in Brisbane for over 40 years, with antiques, collectables and jewellery, and associates who specialise in antique and Danish design furniture. Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 3pm.
A few streets away, The Antique Guild has its furniture and decor showroom at 32 Corunna Street (Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm). Think antique furniture, art glass, Chinese antiquities and the occasional piece of Tiffany Studios. Their Tattersalls Arcade shop in the city leans to fine jewellery and watches.
Wallrocks at 21 Crosby Road is the formal end of town: English and French furniture, mostly 18th and 19th century, each piece sold with a certificate of authenticity. Nick Wallrock came out by ship in 1974 and opened his first shop in Woolloongabba. The business moved to Albion in 2009, and his daughter Jessica now runs it with her husband Damien. Ring ahead to arrange a viewing.

In Hamilton, Chambers & Crosthwaite Antiques at 26 Nudgee Road calls itself one of the largest silver dealers in Australia, with china, jewellery and furniture too. Weekdays only, and it closes at 2pm.
Down by the river, Anthology Jewellers is at Shop 4.05, Portside Wharf, 39 Hercules Street, next door to Bella Deli. They restore vintage and antique jewellery, from antique pieces to post-1970s vintage, and also handcraft new pieces from recycled materials, plus custom makes and repairs. Same team as Imperial Jewellery, just a new name. Weekdays 8.30am to 5pm, weekends 9am to 4pm.
Then head up to Hendra for Nudgee Road Antiques and Design Centre at 277 Nudgee Road. Oriental and European furniture, chandeliers and fine art, plus marble and stone sculpture and the Brickhouse Cafe on site. Weekdays 10am to 4pm, Saturday 10am to 3pm.
Westside: Sherwood and Oxley
Oxley Road is a two-antique-shop road. Turn O'the Century at 377 Oxley Road has been going since 1970 and calls itself Brisbane's longest established antiques shop, with antiques, furniture and curiosities. Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
Further along at 526, Sherwood Bazaar has been trading since 1981 and describes its stock as "anything old, obscure and collectable", which might be the best mission statement on this list. Mostly Australian furniture, silver, china, glass and ceramics. Monday to Saturday, and Sundays by appointment.
In neighbouring Oxley, Relove Oxley at 113 Oxley Station Road has been going since 2014 and covers more than 500 square metres. Antiques and collectables sit alongside records, toys, diecast cars and trading cards, and you can browse with a coffee in hand. Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 4pm.
Worth the drive
Rewind Mid-Century, 69a Sinbad Street, Shorncliffe. Restored mid-century furniture and accoutrements, and recent stock has included a restored Fler SC55 chair. Friday and Saturday, 10.30am to 4pm, and Tuesday to Thursday by appointment.
Randalls Thrift, 60 Allworth Street, Northgate. Secondhand furniture and homewares, with new stock every day it opens. Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 1pm, so set an alarm.
The Eclectic Mix, 65 Edith Street, Wynnum. Antique, retro, upcycled and new furniture, homewares, china and collectables, plus coffee, cake and light lunches. Tuesday to Saturday.
Retro Whimsy, The Walk Arcade, 116 Sutton Street, Redcliffe. Jewellery, ceramics, art glass and bric-a-brac, with some mid-century, antique and retro tables, chairs and lamps. Stock comes from local auctions, estates and downsizers, and there's a Book Nook. Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm.
Dayboro is now a two-shop trip. The Dayboro Shed Antiques, 358 Mount Samson Road, Armstrong Creek, just outside town, has furniture, china, art glass, Australian pottery, kitchenalia and what they call "Blokey & Rural Gear", and they do French polishing too. Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 2pm. Then head into town to the historic Dayboro Butter Factory, where Bohemian De'cor at 1/38 Williams Street sells antiques, art and rare books, including Norman Lindsay, out-of-print Australian titles and vintage children's books. Thursday to Monday, 9am to 4pm. Go on a weekend morning and you can do both. (Check their Instagram before you drive out.)
Salvage yards and tip shops
Missing Grand Ideas? The Northgate salvage emporium has closed, sadly. If it's doors, windows, fireplaces and old light fittings you're after, Woolloongabba Demolitions has been recycling building products since 1964 (and despite the name, it's at 63 Melbourne Street, Rocklea). Weekdays 7.30am to 4.30pm, Saturday 7.30am to 3.30pm. On the northside, Bunneys Demolitions at 22 Radley Street, Virginia has been running its demolition yard for over 35 years. Weekdays from 7am, and Saturday mornings.
And for the true treasure hunters... the tip shops. Brisbane City Council's two Treasure Troves, at 27A Prosperity Place, Geebung and 46 Colebard Street West, Acacia Ridge, are run by Endeavour Foundation and sell household items and furnishings every weekend, 8am to 4pm. Logan's Recycling Market at Heritage Park opens Friday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm, and RecycleWorld at Redland Bay opens Tuesdays and Fridays, 10am to 2pm.
Day trips: Ipswich and Marburg
Ipswich Antique Centre at 86 East Street, Ipswich is three blocks from Ipswich Central station, so you can leave the car at home. It fills a heritage-listed Sunday school hall built in 1895 with a couple of dozen dealers selling Australian, country and English furniture, pottery, jewellery and vintage clothes. Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
Marburg is about a 50-minute drive south-west of Brisbane, and Edmond Street has two antique shops side by side. The Black Museum at 64 Edmond Street sells antique and contemporary furnishings, lighting, decor and art, and it's named after the museum at London's Scotland Yard. Next door is Scotland Yard Antiques, the family's original shop, known for rustic country Australian furniture. The Black Museum opens weekends, 9am to 4pm. Ring Scotland Yard before you drive out. Then grab a coffee and cake at Special Branch Collective, which is mostly plants.
Markets
Brisbane's vintage markets change every weekend, so rather than squeeze them in here, we keep them all on our vintage markets calendar. If you only try one, make it Suitcase Rummage in Reddacliff Place on the first and third Sunday of the month, where sellers sell straight out of their suitcases.
Closed since we last wrote
When we went back over our list in October 2026, about 1 in 4 of the shops on it had closed, moved or gone quiet. Two from the old version of this post are among them: Southside Antiques Centre in Annerley shut its doors on Christmas Eve 2024, and Grand Ideas in Northgate has closed too. Vale to both. So if you love a shop on this list, go and say hello.
